Synthetic Fibers
Synthetic fibres such as polyester, polyamide, acrylic and elastane are popular in many garments, including activewear and swimwear. But they also loose tiny plastic particles during washing, that can enter the sea and cause harm to the environment. Remember, always follow the washing instructions provided on the garment’s care label, which is usually located in the left-hand seam or the inside pocket.
KEEP IT CLEAN Most of the plastic fibres break off during washing. Therefore, we recommend airing and steaming your garments in-between washes. Chose cooler temperatures to protect the fibres and nature. In most cases, 30°C is sufficient to keep your synthetic garments fresh and clean. A short washing program will also limit the amount of fibres being released into wastewater.
As with other fabrics, for optimal stain removal, pre-treat stains before laundering. Lay the garment on an absorbent surface like a towel and apply stain remover or laundry detergent directly to the affected area. Gently work the solution into the fabric using your fingertips.
Afterward, seal the garment in an airtight bag and allow it to sit for 24 hours before washing.
